Beaumont Hotel, Hexham
We used reclaimed pine blocks to fit a new floor to the Beaumont Hotel in Hexham, Northumberland. We used a herringbone pattern with a 2 block border. The blocks were covered in bitumen and required the edges and bottom to be scraped clean, each block needed to be clean before fitting. We used a good quality adhesive that reactivates the bitumen to ensure a good bond.
Once the floor was laid we sanded the floor flat and went through to sanded through the grades to ensure a good smooth finish. The client requested a dark oak stain and finished it with a satin lacquer.
